Contiki launches rebrand with eight travel world categories

Contiki has launched GO WANDER, a major rebranding effort that the company describes as the most significant change in its history. The initiative introduces eight distinct Travel Worlds designed around specific interests. This evolution also brings 76 new trips to the itinerary by the end of the year, including stops in Fiji and the Maldives. Alongside the destinations, the travel company has adjusted its pricing structure to offer lower everyday rates across the board.

Eight ways to travel

The new Travel Worlds categorize trips based on what travelers want to experience. Contiki Local focuses on immersive, small-group tours where tourists can skip the typical tourist traps. Contiki Originals keeps the classic itineraries that the company introduced in 1962. Contiki Highlights offers a curated selection of the best moments in the destination, avoiding filler activities.

For budget-conscious travelers, Contiki Lite provides a stripped-back experience at a lower price point. Contiki Outdoors focuses on active adventures, while Contiki Islands targets beach lovers. Contiki Festivals grants access to music and cultural events, and Contiki Luxe provides a luxury travel option. Each category targets specific desires, from finding hidden trattorias in Italy to soaking up sun on the world’s most beautiful islands or accessing exclusive festival grounds.

Contiki Chief Customer Officer Toni Ambler stated that the new system gives travel agents more tools to match clients with suitable trips. Ambler added that the changes aim to provide young people with more freedom to explore on their own terms. The company also noted that young travelers increasingly seek diversified experiences that they can share with others.

Expanding the portfolio

The expansion includes all-new destinations in Fiji and the Maldives, along with fresh itineraries in India and Japan. Officials cited a nearly 29% rise in passenger travel to Asia between 2023 and 2026 as a driver for these additions. The company believes the new options will support cultural discovery and meaningful connections for younger travelers.

The transformation also addresses the current economic climate. To help travelers manage the cost of living, Contiki introduced a refreshed pricing model. This approach removes the reliance on limited-time promotions and flash sales.

Contiki premiered a promotional series titled “On Contiki” to mark the launch. The short-form drama, directed by Australian filmmaker Gracie Otto, takes place in Costa Rica. It follows four young travelers handling new adventures and friendships. With the global microdrama market forecast to generate USD $19.5 billion in revenue in 2026, short-form scripted content is rapidly emerging as one of the world’s fastest-growing entertainment formats.
