A group of around 20 Swiss travel industry representatives recently took a short cruise from Kiel to Oslo and back, arranged to highlight Mein Schiff Relax—a ship usually reserved for extended voyages. The four-day itinerary still managed to provide a refined, engaging experience.
The trip started with Eurowings flying participants from Zurich to Hamburg, where Mein Schiff arranged a bus transfer to Kiel harbor. Once onboard, the first major event was a well-organized safety drill, followed by a 17:30 champagne welcome in the Captain’s Bar. Later, the group dined in the Atlantik Restaurant before enjoying Aladdin im La La Land, a musical blending Disney songs with La La Land tracks. The performance stood out for its strong vocals and smooth genre transitions.
The second day centered on professional growth and exploration. A sales training session led by Simone Weber, TUI Cruises’ Swiss sales director, mixed practical advice with humor. After lunch, a guided tour of the ship included public areas and a Junior Suite, illustrating the vessel’s thoughtful design. That evening, the crew hosted a “White Night” cocktail hour before dinner, proving the cruise could maintain high standards even on short trips.
On the third day, the group visited Oslo under Mein Schiff’s organized shore excursion, led by a local guide. Upon returning to the ship, the onboard dining and entertainment continued to impress. Highlights included a reading of The Woman in the Red Hair and a burlesque show, an unexpected but well-received addition that sparked discussions among attendees.
The ship’s offerings remained consistently strong throughout, but the group’s chemistry played a key role in making the experience memorable. The 20 Swiss professionals, who interacted well together, ensured the trip felt more engaging. The cruise confirmed that duration matters less than quality and companionship, even brief voyages can deliver a complete experience when both are present.
