Chances are, your vacation plans for this year have been thrown out the window. That doesn’t mean you shouldn’t enjoy yourself and get to see some new places. You just need to do it with extra precautions and, perhaps, in new ways. If you are thinking of hitting the road for a relaxing family getaway, there are some strategies that can help you minimize risk.
1. Rent the Entire House
Why stay in a hotel with hundreds of other people when you can rent a vacation home? The conveniences of North Carolina coast rentals are numerous and include:
- You won’t have to interact closely with anyone outside of your family unless you want to
- You control the cleaning process
- A full kitchen means less worry about eating in enclosed restaurants
- Everyone can have their own bedroom
- Complete areas for entertaining or spending quality time as a family
2. Check Out State and National Parks
If you have never gone camping, now is a great time to give it a try. State and National parks offer a great opportunity to spend time outdoors which is much safer than being enclosed. Many have bathhouses complete with shower facilities, so you won’t have to rough it too much. If you are lucky, you might find one that offers cabin rentals, too. Plus, there are so many great outdoor activities you can enjoy while there: campfires, smores, hiking and fishing all come to mind.
3. Hit the Road in an RV
For a combination of the two, why not rent an RV? It can serve as your private home on wheels while also letting you spend plenty of time exploring new places. You’ll have all the comforts of home including cooking and restroom facilities. Smaller RVs may not have full amenities while larger ones can hold their own against luxury hotels.
The pandemic doesn’t have to derail your entire vacation. Try looking into alternative travel arrangements like house rentals or an RV. You will have a new experience and stay safer in the process.
